VentureBeat has printed a study that commits with a major changes for the Universe S7. The 2010 flagship from Samsung, when the claims end up being true, will reintroduce a few hardware features left out using the S5.

Based on an un named person briefed on Samsung’s plans, the Universe S7 and S7 Edge will both include microSD slots. This reiterates The Wall Street Journal’s claim recently the S7 would again have a standard and curved AMOLED display, together with space for memory cards.

This may be another positive sign for Samsung fans who bemoaned losing expanding storage within the S6. The present flagship marked a large departure from previous hardware, because it changed plastic having a premium build but lost the sd card slot and exchangeable batteries along the way.

Talking about batteries, VentureBeat wants these to remain non-exchangeable but states they’ll be bigger. The S7 and S7 Edge will allegedly jump to 3000mAh and 3600mAh, up from 2550 and 2600mAh correspondingly.

When it comes to other throwback towards the Universe S5, search for the S7 to possess IP67 dust and water proofing.

On the rear of the unit, Samsung is shedding off many of the rear-camera’s megapixels. Rather than the present generation’s 16, look for 12. Also search for an f/1.7 lens aperture, lower from f/1.9. These changes should take away the hump and permit the rear of the 2010 device to put flat. They’ll also leave the S7 with less megapixels compared to S4 (though this will not always possess a negative impact on photos).

The Universe S7 Edge’s display will allegedly dive right in to five.5-inch, up in the current 5.1 inches. The S7 will stay only at that smaller sized size. Both will offer you 1440 by 2560 resolutions.

Inside, VentureBeat’s coverage indicates a brand new Exynos 8 Octa 8890 from Samsung, although the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 may seem in United States variants. All regions may expect 4GB of RAM and a minimum of 32GB and 64GB storage options.

The Wall Street Journal’s previous coverage also pointed out USB Type-C and pressure sensitive screens.

The alterations designed for the Universe S6 later made an appearance within the S6 Edge and Note 5, therefore if these details happens to be true, fans of Samsung’s bigger phones might also have something to become looking forward to.

It does seem that the memory leek issue has been fixed, at least for me as no Google Play Services or apps have randomly crashed. Overall the performance feels marginally better than 5.0 I guess. Interestingly enough, my stand by time on battery has improved; lost only 1% overnight after an 8 hour sleep.
Still annoying how the system sounds are still quiet though XD
