USB-C appears to obtain more broadly used each day – ASUS’s new ZenFones have the ability to USB-C charging ports – and that’s forget about apparent than when SanDisk, a significant manufacturer of storage products (until Western Digital acquired the organization recently) announces new USB-C flash drives, having a normal USB-A port alternatively finish for convenient movement of files.

The brand new flash drives, catchily named “SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drives,” are faster (because of USB 3.1), reversible, and also have multiple reasons, based on the v . p . of SanDisk product marketing at Western Digital, Dinesh Bahal. While increasingly more smartphones are utilizing the connector to charge battery, very couple of laptops have USB-C ports right now, creating a full-size USB essential, a minimum of for the moment. Each connector is retracting, utilizing a little nub quietly, meaning both can’t be out simultaneously.

That ‘normal USB’ port helps it to be simple to transfer files over from the laptop (having a USB-A port) to some phone (having a USB-C port). SanDisk Memory Zone, on the Play Store, will be this. The application launches once the drive is connected, showing the information that’s being stored, permitting so that it is submitted towards the cloud or moved to the device itself.

The brand new drives can be found at Amazon . com along with other retailers. Western Digital states they’ll be listed at $19.99 for 16GB, $29.99 for 32GB, $39.99 for 64GB, and $69.99 for 128GB. However, on Amazon . com.com I am seeing the drives for significantly less – $14.99 for 16GB, $19.99 for 32GB, $32.99 for 64GB, and $55.99 for 64GB – although they are presently sold-out. It remains seen whether these prices stay or is going to be modified because they continue purchase.
